Things we make and do
At Shedquarters we want to help our local community as much as possible – after all the community has helped us get up and running with generous donations and support.
Here are examples of the things we have been making and doing recently:
Bird Boxes
We are making bird boxes for Eco SoCo, the local ecology group in Sonning Common. By working together with other voluntary organisations we hope to make Sonning Common a nicer place to live.
Made by our members from plywood offcuts as a kit of parts, the boxes will be assembled by local children during the Village Day on 22 June 2025. This box is sized for the local Blue Tits – we hope they move in soon!
If you would like to help make bird boxes, please come along to the shed – we have 30 to make, so we would love a hand.
If you would like a bird box for your garden, please use the information on Contact page. The suggested donation is £12.00 per box.

Bug Hotels
We haven’t forgotten the bugs and the bees either. Just fill up one of our “hotels” with suitable material and hang it in a shady place in your garden to help all kinds of bugs survive our British Winter weather!
Eco SoCo will be giving these away at the Village Day on 22 June 2025 too.
If you want your own bug hotel, they are available for a suggested donation of £8.00 via our Contact page.

Walking Sticks
One of our members makes bespoke walking sticks.
Come along and find out how he does it – if you want to make your very own walking stick, get in touch.
Planters
Just in time for Spring, we have started to make planters for your garden or for our garden at the Shed. They are easy to make – no previous woodworking skills required.
Come along and help out – we need to make these to sell at the local Village Days too.
If you want your own planter, they are available for a donation via our Contact page.
