Hello again to you all. I trust all is well with yourselves and family and you are enjoying the Summer, despite the lack of rain and the many hot days.

Our team have been very busy as usual. I have met with a local plumber for advice on the best way to deal with foul drainage at the site at Peppard as we must find the right solution. However, if anyone has any helpful suggestions, please contact me.

After much thought, we have decided to engage an architect to submit plans to SODC for a building on the site, so wish us luck! Once we obtain planning permission we need two solicitors, one for us and one for PWMH (Peppard War Memorial Hall). The hall is granting us a 25 year lease at a peppercorn annual rent we think it only reasonable for Shedquarters to foot the bill. This is more expense so get your fundraising hat on please for ideas to raise money.

I have been in touch with several Councillors locally, who are enthusiastic of our project. David Bartholomew has mentioned a donation from funds of approximately £500 so we will approach others in the local area where would-be-members reside.

I was invited to give a short talk to Harmony, a new local choir which meets at PWMH and they have offered to give the proceeds of their Christmas Concert to us. It could be as much as £2000! I have further been contacted by them to say they are contacting the Henley Standard for themselves and Shedquarters. So please watch this space!

Sonning Common Health Centre are hosting an open day in the health centre from 11am-3pm on Saturday, 3rd September in celebration of 50 years (this was during Covid but could not be held). Shedquarters have been given a table there and members of our Committee will be there and I shall also be asking one or two of our Shedders to come along and talk to people. PLEASE PUT THE DATE IN YOUR DIARY and do come and visit our table.

If you have not seen it yet, do look at our website: www.shedquarters.org.uk

Take care
